It was on MySpace that plucky, young producer George Reid first heard the dulcet coos of Aluna Francis, who was then fronting a little-known outfit named My Toys Like Me. After remixing one of their tracks, Reid duly swiped Francis for his own musical ends and, four years on, AlunaGeorge are now a mainstay of the Radio 1 playlist, with a BRIT Award nomination to their name. Body Music does little to disprove widespread opinion that this is a band worth getting excited about, either: variously combining garage beats and R&B grooves with off-kilter synths and humungous pop hooks, it’s an impressively-slick debut set.
