zdigital What we said: To release an artist’s work posthumously is to tread a path fraught with danger: get it right and you’ll be praised for unleashing lost classics; get it wrong and your efforts could be dismissed as “barrel-scraping” or, worse still, “exploitative”. Fortunately, XSCAPE qualifies for the former category, unearthing genuine gems like the disco-indebted, Paul Anka co-write ‘Love Never Felt So Good’ and a cruelly-overlooked Invincible cut called ‘Chicago’. Michael Jackson fans owe a big thank you to executive producer Timbaland and Epic Records chairman L.A. Reid for handling the project with sensitivity.
